Units guide

Every crowd in Crowd Clash is made of four kinds of units. Learn how strong each one is, how fights are won and where to find the best units on the map.

Power and space

Every unit has two numbers. Power is how strong it is. Add up the power of all your units and you get your crowd's strength. Space is how much room the unit takes in your crowd.

UnitPowerSpaceGrey people
Soldier1175%
Archer21.413%
Barbarian32.29%
Giant963%

Example: 20 soldiers, 5 archers, 2 barbarians and 1 giant have 20 + 10 + 6 + 9 = 45 power. One crowd can hold up to 350 units.

Soldier: a small fighter with a blue helmet and a sword

Soldier

  • Power 1
  • Space 1

The soldier is your basic fighter. You start every round with 6 soldiers (more with upgrades), three out of four grey people are soldiers, and every chest has 8 of them.

One soldier is weak, but soldiers do an important job: in a fight, soldiers die first. Lots of soldiers keep your archers, barbarians and giants alive.

Archer: a fighter with a feathered hat and a bow

Archer

  • Power 2
  • Space 1.4
  • Range 170 px

Archers are the only units that attack from far away. When another crowd is up to 170 pixels away, your archers shoot a volley every 0.9 seconds, even before the two crowds touch. Each archer adds 0.6 damage to every volley, and up to 6 arrows fly at a time.

So 10 archers deal 6 damage per volley: that is like 6 enemy soldiers gone before the fight even starts. Enemy archers shoot at you too, and a shield blocks their arrows.

Barbarian: a tough fighter with a headband and a sword

Barbarian

  • Power 3
  • Space 2.2

A barbarian has the power of three soldiers in one unit. They are not hard to find: 9% of grey people are barbarians, and every chest has one. Barbarians only start to die after all your soldiers and archers are gone, so they stay in a fight for a long time.

Giant: a huge fighter with a big wooden club

Giant

  • Power 9
  • Space 6

The giant is the strongest unit: one giant has the power of 9 soldiers. Giants are rare, only 3% of grey people, so grab every giant you see. In a fight, giants are the last units to die.

A hidden bonus: each unit slows your crowd a little, and a giant counts as just one unit. So a giant adds 9 power for the same small slowdown as one soldier.

How fights work

  1. Crowds that touch start to fight. Archers can already shoot before that.
  2. Every second, each crowd loses power equal to half of the other crowd's power (at least 2).
  3. The weakest units die first: soldiers, then archers, then barbarians, then giants.
  4. The weaker crowd is pushed back.
  5. A crowd with no units left is beaten, and 40% of its units join the winner (always at least 1 soldier).

Example: your 45-power crowd from above meets a crowd of 30 soldiers. The fight takes less than 2 seconds. You lose about 12 soldiers but keep all your archers, barbarians and your giant. Then 12 of the beaten soldiers join you, so you end the fight as strong as you started.

A real fight on the Desert map: your blue crowd (68 units) against Asha's crowd (42 units). Asha's crowd has a green ring, so it is weaker than yours.
