Maps guide
Crowd Clash has three maps: green Grassland, the sandy Desert and the frozen Snow map. Each one is a big square with water all around it, and each one plays a little differently.
Pick your map
On the home screen, tap Grassland, Desert, Snow or Random, then press PLAY. Here is what each map has:
| Grassland | Desert | Snow | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | 7 lakes | 3 oases | 8 frozen lakes |
| Plants | 40 tree groups | 34 cactus groups | 46 snowy pine groups |
| Rocks | 80 | 110 | 64 |
| Weather | – | sand swirls | falling snow |
Grassland

Grassland is the green map, with blue lakes, groups of trees and grey rocks. It is the middle map on every count: its 7 lakes, 40 tree groups and 80 rocks all sit between the numbers of the other two maps.
That balance makes it a great all-round map and a good place to learn the game.
Desert

The Desert has only 3 oases, the fewest lakes of any map, and the fewest plants: 34 groups of cacti. But it has the most rocks: 110. Sand swirls blow across the screen while you play.
With so little water, you rarely have to walk around a lake. Keep an eye on the many rocks, though, when you need to run.
Snow

The Snow map has the most lakes (8, all frozen) and the most plants (46 groups of snowy pines), but the fewest rocks: 64. Snow falls over the screen while you play.
With this many lakes and trees, plan your escape route early, before a red-ring crowd gets close.
Random
Can't decide? Pick Random and the game chooses Grassland, Desert or Snow for you. It is a fun way to keep your rounds fresh and to get good at all three maps.
Which map is right for you?
- New to the game: Grassland, the balanced middle map.
- Want less water in your way: the Desert, with only 3 oases.
- Love winter: Snow, with 8 frozen lakes and falling snow.
- Want a surprise: Random.
On every map
In a normal round, every map has:
- 16 enemy crowds, each with a name.
- 280 grey people walking around. The special ones (archers, barbarians and giants) have a gold ring under them.
- 22 power-ups and 45 coin piles.
- Forts: squares of stone walls with 4 doors and a chest inside, up to 6 per map.
- Loose walls standing on their own.
- An open middle, and water around the edge of the map.
Use the minimap
The minimap in the bottom-left corner shows the whole map. Chests are yellow dots, and enemy crowds have the same colours as their rings: green, yellow or red. Use it to find weak crowds and chests, and to see strong crowds coming.
Map tips
- Lakes, trees, rocks and walls are in your way. When you run from a stronger crowd, head for open ground.
- The water around the map is the end of the world. Don't get trapped against it by a red-ring crowd.
- A fort has 4 doors, so other crowds can walk in too. Grab the chest and keep moving.
- Remember the forts you pass. Enemy crowds can't open chests, so a fort's chest waits for you.
Maps in the Daily Challenge
In the Daily Challenge you don't pick the map. Everyone plays the same map with the same special rule, and both change every day at 00:00 UTC. Play it as often as you like: your best crowd of the day is saved.
Some rules change what is on the map: Packed map doubles the grey people, Treasure day doubles the coins, and No power-ups takes the power-ups away. All 9 rules, with tips, are in the daily guide.
Next, read about the power-ups, chests and coins you find on every map, or get the tips and strategy guide.
